City of Fairmont Launches New Digital Service Platform
The City of Fairmont is modernizing its digital presence with a new resident-focused website that makes it easier to pay bills, apply for permits, find services, and stay informed.
⚠️ Demo Content — This article is a demonstration of the new platform’s news publishing capability.
The City of Fairmont is launching a new digital service platform designed around how residents actually use city services — not around how City Hall is organized.
What’s New
The new website puts the most common resident tasks front and center:
- Pay bills online — utility payments, court fines, and permit fees
- Report problems — potholes, street issues, and public concerns
- Apply for permits — building, fence, driveway, and special event permits
- Find information — park locations, meeting agendas, public records
A Focus on Accessibility
The new platform meets WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility standards, ensuring all residents — regardless of ability — can access City services online.
Built for Fairmont
Content is organized by what residents need to do, not by department names. The site also serves as the digital home for the Fairmont Police Department and Fairmont Liquor Store.
